Goals / Objectives
Purdue Pesticide Programs will provide pesticide certification training for new applicators and those who need to maintain their current certification through educational programs. In addition, PPP will assist the Office of the Indiana State Chemist in revising state pesticide certification examinations.
Project Methods
A. Routine meetings will be held with Office oflndiana State Chemist (OISC) to discuss current training programs and outreach efforts. Discussions will also focus on any changes required in the training manuals and extension publications. B. The development and implementation of new certification examinations will continue to be a major focus of attention between PPP and OISC. C. Approximately I800 trainees will be able to attend 40 initial commercial pesticide applicator training days.

Target Audience: Program participants includeindividualspursuing licensure as Indiana commercial and private pesticide applicators. Changes/Problems: Purdue Pesticide Programs is now producing applicator training manuals with clearly specified performance objectives at the beginning of every manual chapter. This change is in response to learner requests for improved aid with certification exam preparation andmeaningful exam results feedback. Impacts
What was accomplished under these goals? Conducted 17 Core Pesticide Applicator Training programs. Trained a total of 1134 individuals. Conducted 11 Category Pesticide Applicator Training programs. Trained a total of 639 individuals. Conducted two mandatory workshops for lawn care operators (97 individuals) and two mandatory workshops for termite control operators (61 individuals). Developed and implemented a new Core exam and a new Aerial Applicator exam (with Office of Indiana State Chemist).
